One of my favorite television shows is Glee. A recent episode called "Fireworks" was considered the shows "Valentines" episode. What surprised me about the episode was the ending. Kurt and the "Warblers" sang at a lonely hearts club dinner. Some of the characters, for whatever reason, were alone on Valentine's day.
As you celebrate this day with that special person in your life, I hope you reach out to those who are alone and maybe lonely. Could be a widow, shut-in, or someone in the hospital. On your journey I hope you take time to read about the life of St. Valentine and celebrate this day of love!

Day of Love

I admit I'm a hopeless romantic! "Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, and The Goodbye Girl" are some of my favorite movies! "You and Me, I'm Your's, and You Were Meant For Me" are some of my favorite songs. I think you know where I'm going with this!
During this time of year we are bombarded with ads including jewelry, flowers, candy, etc. Even though I agree these are ways to show love, I believe there are many other ways!
I've always considered Valentines Day as a day to show love to those people in our lives that we appreciate! It's as simple a visiting a shut-in, calling someone you haven't talked to for awhile, sharing a meal, etc. On your journey, take time to spread the Love!

Saint Valentine

As Valentine's day approaches, there are those romantic advertisements for chocolates, flowers, jewelry, etc. Although these are important I would challenge you on your journey to learn about Saint Valentine and the significance of this day which goes far beyond romance. For me it has always been a day of love: to receive and give to all those important people in our lives. Love On!
